Following a year-long expansion, the newly enhanced Beit Tzipora Center in Ashkelon was formally inaugurated on July 25, 2007. The new building has more classrooms, computer labs, a multi-media library and an auditorium, allowing the Center to support more Ethiopian-Israeli students and provide them with the best facilities and equipment available.
The center in Ashkelon currently supports students in 1st through 6th grade throughout the school year, runs a Summer Program for the students and operates an Adult Education Program. Additionally, Ethiopian students enrolled in institutes of higher education continue to benefit from a scholarship program created in 2004. The scholarships serve to finance the cost of a college education in exchange for volunteering at Beit Tzipora Ashkelon during the school year.
